A UNIQUE NEW WATERFRONT HOTEL FOR VANCOUVER

Following a rezoning approval vote by Vancouver City Council, a unique new floating hotel is moving forward for Vancouver's waterfront. The world-class, low-carbon vessel will create 250 hotel rooms, add 200 jobs, and bolster tourism in the downtown core.

MEETING URGENT NEED FOR HOTEL ROOMS

With 250 rooms, Sunborn Vancouver will help meet growing demand for hotel rooms in the city. Following City Council's April 2026 approval, the project will proceed through rezoning enactment and remaining approvals before the vessel is built and transported to Vancouver.

INVIGORATED WATERFRONT WITH OPEN ACCESS

The hotel development will create public spaces and greater access to the water, with a new 130m floating public dock that will include viewpoints, gardens, seating areas and a planned café and spa, all open to the public.

NEW JOBS AND GROWTH FOR LOCAL ECONOMY

Hotel amenities and services will create over 200 new direct plus indirect jobs within the hotel and supply chain stimulating the local economy, as well as a new visitor destination and landmark hotel for Vancouver.

LOW CARBON , SUSTAINABLE FLOATING HOTEL

Renewable energy systems are expected to reduce hotel power consumption by 60-70%. The floating hotel will operate like a normal building on land, with no discharge to the water, no emissions from engines or use of fossil fuel.
